History of the company

History

The Bottega Lu Fraili was founded more than half a century ago by Patriarch Sebastiano Solinas, who was a blacksmith who initially crafted handicrafts and repaired traditional peasant tools (tools for working the land and hunting the horses): now the main activities are artistic artworks of iron and copper that are molded with exclusively manual techniques.

Tools

All different types of works are made through a clever and personal use of simple tools such as hammer, anvil and forge. Thanks to these tools and their skillful use, the iron is heated to be artistically molded.

Colours

The use of quality oil colors allows the enrichment of iron works with a further artistic touch. David Solinas is inspired by the colors of his land, Sardinia, and he personally paints his works by hand.

My works

Iron and copper works of Bottega Lu Fraili can be admired in several prestigious places in Sardinia, and especially in Costa Smeralda, in private hotels and villas. These works are often commissioned by big personalities such as Prince Karim Agha Kan, architects Luigi Vietti, Gerard Bethoux, Savin J. Couelle.

Appliques, sculptures, ornaments, beds, tables, chairs and other furnishings are realized and painted in accordance with client’s needs, who can view works in the showroom on the first floor of the Bottega.
